Thammasat University Faculty of Medicine Co-hosts “AI in Global Health Symposium” in Alabama, USA

The executive team from the Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, led by Assoc. Prof. Auchara Tangsathapornpong, MD. (Dean),
together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sira Nantapisal, MD. (Associate Dean for Administration and International Relations),
Prof. Dr. Thana Khocharoenporn, MD. (Assistant Dean for International Relations), and Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Phongsakorn Matwisess (Chair of the Graduate Program in Applied Biosciences [International Program]),
participated as co-hosts of the AI in Global Health Symposium, organized in collaboration with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB),
USA, and Maastricht University, the Netherlands.

The symposium took place from 29–30 October 2025 at the Marnix E. Heersink Institute
for Biomedical Innovation Conference Center in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Auchara Tangsathapornpong, MD., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine,
Thammasat University, delivered the opening remarks jointly with the deans of UAB and Maastricht University. Meanwhile,
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sira Nantapisal, MD, Associate Dean for Administration and International Affairs,
was invited as a speaker to present on the topic “AI Adoption Barriers in Low-Resource Settings”

On this occasion, the Thammasat University executive team also engaged in discussions to strengthen academic partnerships
